This spring, we’re presenting a Career Everywhere Conversation three-part series on advocating for career services. We’ll be hearing from career services leaders who have successfully advocated for buy-in from senior leadership, resources and budget, collaboration and sharing through campus partnerships, and expanding services for underrepresented and new student groups. Our goal with this series is to empower career services leaders everywhere with the tools and strategies they need to advocate for the support and resources career services teams need and deserve.
In this, the first session, we’ll be hearing from three experienced career services leaders who have been successful in getting a seat at the table with senior leadership at their institutions. They’ll be sharing best practices and strategies learned through their experiences.
Our fantastic panelists are Susan Brennan, Assistant Dean of Career Development at MIT Sloan School of Management; Jim Lowe, Assistant Vice Provost for Career Services at the University of Connecticut; and Bob Sheridan, Executive Director of the Center for Career Education and Professional Development at California State University, Northridge’s Nazarian College of Business and Economics.
