Boston-based software company collaborates with top-ranked Bentley University to provide the next generation Career Education platform for students.
(Boston, MA) - uConnect, a fast growing education technology company with offices in South Boston, couldn’t be prouder of their partner Bentley University, recently ranked #1 for ‘Best Career Services’ by Princeton Review. In 2013, uConnect was conceptualized as a platform to help career services become a bigger part of campus culture, so schools could better support students’ transition from college to career. uConnect’s CEO, David Kozhuk, remembers, ‘When I started uConnect, I looked at all the New England area schools and saw what Bentley was doing with their career services and knew that they’d be a perfect partner for us. I walked into their career office, asking for a meeting with their then Director, Susan Brennan, with not much more than a vision. Luckily, she saw the potential right away and since 2013, uConnect has provided Bentley with an all-in-one career education portal to better serve their students, alumni and employer partners.’
uConnect worked closely with Brennan’s team to customize the platform so Bentley students felt that engaging with the career center was fun, easy and, most importantly, a natural part of their day-to-day college experience. A big goal of integrating uConnect was to raise visibility and drive utilization so students could make the most of Bentley’s robust career offerings which includes a dedicated job board, alumni mentoring tools and one-on-one career advising. Since the uConnect implementation, Bentley has seen engagement with their online career resources increase by 87% each year.
The recent distinction of Bentley’s career department is the culmination of a long standing commitment to professional and career development by the University. Brennan, now Associate Vice President, has been a vocal figure in the industry, discussing the importance of career education, through her blog and as a regular contributor on public channels such as Bloomberg Radio. Institutionally, Bentley contributes to thought leadership and also informs the development of career programming for students through their PreparedU Program and Career Development Institute (CDI) initiatives.
When asked about how uConnect contributed to this designation Brennan stated, ‘We’ve completely changed how we engage students, alumni and employers in career services, helping us increase visibility and elevate our brand, both on campus and across the industry’
uConnect builds software for higher education to help make career services easily accessible, fun and hugely rewarding. Schools including MIT, Emerson College and Indiana University use uConnect to make career services a bigger part of their campus culture to more effectively impact student employment outcomes.
